I met Jake and Maysee a while ago in Michigan before I moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We share a lot of common interest, church, our wives are Philippino and we love art. I have had the blessing and honor to get to know April though my best friend Kevin. Years ago April had her heart set on me for her wedding photography long before falling in love. This past Sunday I had the sheer delight to photograph Carlos and Ari’s wedding at a private home in Chapel Hill. I was blessed to have Amanda Olson Photography assist me and honored to be part of a Mark Day Company wedding. As I got to know the couple one thing was clear, they love people and having a good time. This is the first post of 2, I always include the pics that are not your A typical pics that you normally see in wedding post. I like to show off what makes the wedding unique, the details, and the personality of the day. Last week I had the honor to second shoot a wedding with Amanda Olson Photography. We have been friends since I moved here giving each other encouragement and support. We started with getting ready shots at Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club and then moved on to the ceremony and reception at Dorris Duke Center. The couple is so beautiful and held up well considering the brides dad was in a hospital bed. With the help of todays technology the dad was able to participate watching the wedding via Skype by computer. Sometimes my little complaining is so insignificant when i look at the grand scheme of what others go through. This was a day of bucket downpours and lightening but it always amazes me how God opens the skies at just the right times for the pictures and the ceremony. Keep in mind all poses were set by Amanda, I included several of my favorites from getting ready up to the reception. Enjoy
